Terms of Service

These terms cover using stevefixit.com and getting service from Steve's Mobile Mechanic, a sole proprietorship owned by Steven G Villalpando ("we", "us", "Steve"). By using the site, booking, or texting us, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

Our service

Steve's Mobile Mechanic repairs cars at your location in the Chicagoland area (Chicago and its suburbs), Illinois. Prices on the website are estimates for a typical car. The final price is confirmed in an estimate or repair order before work starts, and extra work is only done after you approve it. A booking request is a request until Steve confirms it.

Payment and warranty

Payment is due as stated on your invoice. Warranty terms are printed on your invoice. Please look at the invoice for the parts and labor coverage that applies to your job.

SMS Terms

• What you get. Text messages about your appointment and service: appointment confirmations and reminders, "on my way" updates, estimates, invoices, answers to your service questions, and, if you have worked with us, an occasional request for a review of the work.
• How you join. You join by texting us first, or by ticking the optional box "Text me about my appointment and service" next to your phone number on our booking form, message form or chat. Agreeing to texts is not a condition of buying anything or of getting service, and you can use every form without it.
• Message frequency varies. It depends on your appointments and questions.
• Message and data rates may apply. Check your mobile plan.
• Opt out. Reply STOP at any time. You will get one confirmation and no more texts from us. Reply START to join again.
• Help. Reply HELP, or email [email protected] or call (331) 314-8484.
• Carriers. Carriers and Twilio are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported US carriers vary, and delivery is not guaranteed.
• Privacy. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See our Privacy Policy.

Using the site

Please give accurate information and do not misuse the chat or forms (no spam, no attempts to break or probe the site). We may block traffic that looks abusive.

No guarantee, limits of liability

The site and its estimates are provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, our liability for anything arising from the website is limited to the amount you paid us for the related service, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits rights you have under Illinois or federal consumer law.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the version posted here with its date applies. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois.
